Downtown Revitalization
Basalt, CO

In collaboration with the Basalt Planning & Zoning Commission, BMC staff had the distinct privilege to undertake a study of the town's most prominent downtown redevelopment opportunities. The initial goal was to determine whether land containing two mobile home parks, as well as adjacent land containing an outdated marketplace, could be redeveloped with mixed-use scenarios highly sought by the community. Components of the design include residential, commercial, and office space with underground parking as well as parkland within the Roaring Fork River floodway. The Master Plan also includes proposed improvements to the entrance to downtown from Highway 82.
